LINAC Machine
It was a great pleasure to create this LEGO version of a LINAC machine for the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The machine is a linear accelerator used for external beam radiation treatment for patients with cancer. It can be quite an ordeal especially for children so this LEGO version was created so that the cancer team can demonstrate the process in a way that will hopefully help them feel more relaxed.
The model has some movement – the bed section moves backward and forwards and the accelerator section rotates a full 360 degrees. Unusually for me, the whole model is glued!
