For The Common Room of the North which recently reopened in central Newcastle I designed 5 little engineering-related sets for people to build at free LEGO workshops during their opening festival.
The beautiful building - which used to the the North of England Mining Institute - has undergone a transformation recently and is now using its amazing heritage to inspire the next generation of innovators and engineers. My large model of the building can be seen here: The Common Room in LEGO.
These sets were designed to celebrate the past and present of engineering in the area, and include a Geordie Lamp, Stephenson's Rocket, the Swing Bridge, a wind turbine and electric car based on the Nissan Leaf.
The instructions for these sets can be downloaded for free here.
